Opera legend Plácido Domingo comes to Bratislava with a spectacular gala evening to mark his 85th birthday 

Bratislava will welcome one of the greatest artists in the music world. Plácido Domingo will perform on the occasion of his 85th birthday at an exclusive gala concert in the Peugeot Arena , which will take place on March 17, 2026.

The legendary singer's charisma will be complemented by the art of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, which is honored to accompany one of the greatest opera masters of all time. The program will feature dramatic arias, duets and orchestral compositions from Italian, French and Spanish operatic literature.

The evening will also be enriched by three exceptional guests – Pavol Bršlík , a Slovak tenor with an international reputation who shines on stages in Berlin, London and New York. The holder of prestigious awards is known for his brilliant technique and charismatic performance, thanks to which he belongs to the most prominent representatives of the Slovak opera generation.

Another star of the evening will be Adriana Kučerová , a soprano acclaimed for her subtlety, coloratura virtuosity, and sensitive stage presence. The winner of the prestigious Belvedere Competition in Vienna has won audiences on international stages and is one of our most successful opera singers.

A special dimension will be added to the concert by Teo Gertler , a young Slovak violin virtuoso and winner of the Virtuosos competition, who has already won the recognition of the world music community with his musicality, technical bravura and emotional expression. Although he is only a few years old, he performs on important stages at home and abroad and is considered one of the greatest talents of his generation.

Plácido Domingo is one of the greatest figures in the world of opera and music. During his extraordinary career, he has sung over 150 roles, performed in over 4,000 performances and won 12 Grammy Awards. He became famous not only as a tenor and baritone singer, but also as a conductor, mentor to young talents and a global ambassador for Spanish culture and the zarzuela genre. His name will forever be associated with the legendary Three Tenors project, in which, together with Luciano Pavarotti and José Carreras, they brought opera to millions of audiences around the world and became a symbol of the combination of high art and broad popularity.

The Slovak audience also remembers him from 2010, when his first Bratislava concert was named the event of the year by the media and the maestro surprised domestic listeners with the song Silent Night in Slovak - a moment that was remembered as magical and unforgettable.
